I don't think they'll have much in the way of banter, just calm and planned statements that everyone expects them to make. I'm sure people who support either Trump or Biden will walk away from the debate saying their candidate dominated. The debates between Trump and Biden is where I really expect the sparks of "Old insane people scream at each other" to light up the night. I plan to have a few friends over to watch. On Biden, too. But the polling shows that it's not really sticking. People of all persuasions know he's not an extremist cause he's been in the public eye for decades. Basically, he made a very safe choice. Like 1/3 of the Democratic party is black voters. He's basically trying to rebuild the Obama coalition which was based on black voters and women, especially suburban women. So from a purely mathematical point of view, this is probably a safe choice. Suring up support in some key demographics, not scaring anyone off. That said, I woulda liked to see Warren. But he's really trying to get those moderate voters on his side in key swing states, so I understand why it's.
