However in a case where you're ordered to give up information, like in this case, there is no limit. If you just decide to never give up the info you can be in jail for life.The problem here is, suppose some judge said to give up the plans for the location of a bomb -- but there was no bomb, or you didn't know where it was. They haven't proven you committed a crime, or that you have knowledge. It's indefinite detention by other means.Now in this case they SUSPECT he knows where the rest of it is, because he used to rare coins -- but we shouldn't base law on a case like this. It can clearly be abused to harm someone who could never provide the court the information they requested.Without a trial, you can't really PROVE that something did or didn't happen. It could be the judge has it out for someone.
