The whole thing is a total fuckup that people will only regret when people start dying. Only reasons parents are talking shit at teachers right now is because the parents would have faced not having school as a cheap daycare for their kids, and they don't want their jobs interrupted by having to figure out what to do with their kids. So teachers protesting schools reopening was threatening to interrupt their daycare- er, school schedules. Despite the amazing amount of effort on the teacher's part, this makes me incredibly sad. Little children who cannot make choices in their best interest are being put in high-risk environments because we as a nation failed to provide a support network that would allow remote learning and/or their parents to not need school to be daycare.
