However, many teachers only know the grade you are earning in their particular course so they just know you as you are for that time period. Still not a reason to pick on a student. So sorry for the loss of your girlfriend (awful at any age!) and that this other crap happened to you. Yeah, I think a lot of people here misunderstood the tone. There was 0% snark, it’s a high-touch university where the students don’t have strong academic backgrounds and need all the encouragement they can get. When my medical school went to online lectures for the didactic portion of our rotations, I honestly wished people would turn on their cameras or even just their mics to ask or answer questions instead of using chat. We weren’t required to do either, but if I’m going to pay to be in a virtual classroom, let’s at least make it a little interactive. Otherwise.
