The first troop that I It Get Losers We’re Gonna Float Halloween T-Shirt checked out, closer to my house, was pretty militant and stressed stuff like that. The whole troop meeting was no fun. I asked my parents if I could check out another one (I was in Cub Scouts previously) before committing, and found one just a bit farther that was more like a club where you learned cool skills and went on fun trips. I wore dress pants with my uniform; I didn't have the pants, either. They asked me where my pants were, and I told them I've never had them. Our troop committee (parents) waived that as a requirement because of 1) cost and 2) teenage growth spurts. How far back are we talking? I quite liked the uniforms from pre-2010 or so before they made the switch from cotton to synthetics. New ones are far too baggy, appropriate for camping but not something I’d wear to a formal event.I hated the pants when I was a scout, even back when they were 'in style'. My parents resented me for not wearing them because they spent money on them. Thanks, I haven't thought about those embarrassing things in almost 25 years.
